Albert is a partner with a focus on private credit, high yield debt and private equity.

Overview

Albert represents financial sponsors, underwriters, borrowers, issuers and investors on syndicated and credit fund lending, unitranches, high yield offerings and other leveraged finance transactions. Prior to joining Theseus, he built his practice within the capital markets and private equity teams of leading US law firms in London, advising corporates and underwriters on transactions totalling over £20 billion across a wide range of asset classes and industries.​ 

 

Albert has published and presented independent research on leveraged finance and the European private equity market, as well as US and ECB leveraged lending regulation.​

Experience

Selected representations at prior firms include:

  • Vantiv, a US payments system company on the $1 billion high yield debt financing of its £8 billion acquisition of Worldpay, its largest European competitor

  • Goldman Sachs on the inaugural issuance of €310 million high yield notes and subsequent €95 million tap by Novacap, an Ardian-owned French chemicals manufacturer

  • Etihad Airways on €700 million and €500 million in structured financings and related proceeds loans to a group of affiliated airlines

  • JP Morgan and BNP Paribas on the issuance of $1.7 billion high yield notes by Altice to fund its $9 billion acquisition of Cequel Suddenlink

  • First Quantum Minerals, an international mining company, on the issuance of over $7 billion in high yield notes as well as related consent solicitations and tender and exchange offers

  • Gategroup, an international hospitality and catering company, on its €600 million revolving credit and term loan B facility in connection with the refinancing of its capital markets debt

  • Gulf Keystone Petroleum, a Middle Eastern upstream oil and gas company, on its $500 million balance sheet restructuring and its issuance of $250 million high yield notes

  • Global Fashion Group, a European unicorn in the fashion industry majority-owned by Kinnevik and Rocket Internet, on the private placement of €330 million convertible preferred shares.
